The Haemophilia Experiences, Results and Opportunities (HERO) initiative explored the psychosocial issues affecting people with haemophilia and included a qualitative study which included 150 interviews with people with haemophilia, parents, and healthcare professionals (HCPs) from 7 countries. In this analysis, the Social Representations Theory1is used to explore the social perceptions of haemophilia held by people with haemophilia living in the United Kingdom (UK) and United States (US), and the role of certain variables (i.e. country, marital status, age, or type of therapy) in the different representations of haemophilia were explored.
